Overview

Warehouse Manager – PSG. Oversees all aspects of the solar energy equipment warehouse, including inventory management, shipments, staff supervision, and ensuring smooth operations to support solar installation projects.

Maintains records and reports related to warehouse activities, personnel, and equipment; provides information and adjusts stock and inventory control in coordination with receiving, order processing, and inventory control areas.

Responsibilities

  • Control inventory and ensure accurate tracking of solar energy equipment and materials.
  • Oversee incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Supervise daily warehouse activities, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, and floor productivity.
  • Develop and implement efficient warehouse processes and procedures to optimize workflow.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, safe warehouse environment in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with project managers and installation teams to fulfill equipment and material requirements for solar projects.
  • Conduct inventory audits using the ABC count process.
  • Monitor warehouse expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation of inventory movements and transactions.
  • Implement quality control measures to uphold product standards and customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with procurement and purchasing departments to manage stock levels.
  • Provide reports and updates to senior management regarding warehouse operations, inventory status, and performance metrics.
  • Manage day-to-day performance and progress.
  • Assist managers with activities of associates in warehouse departments including purchasing, receiving, stocking, retrieving, pulling orders, packing, processing and shipping finished goods.
  • Determine work procedures, review schedules, and expedite workflow through training and development of regular and temporary labor.
  • Ensure all orders are pulled by the team.
  • Motivate, coach, counsel, and encourage teamwork.
  • Interact with subordinates, peers, and upper management to achieve business goals; interact with all levels of management.
  • Maintain department tools, material supply inventories and a clean, safe, secure, and efficient operation.
  • Present information effectively in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Communicate well with the General Manager.
  • Maintain inventory in healthy and optimal conditions as reflected in the books.
  • Promote teamwork and collaboration across the warehouse.
  • Collaborate closely with the Data Clerk Entry Team to ensure perfect control of inventory.

Other Functions

Other functions as directed and/or assigned. Employee may be required to travel for business purposes.

Requirements, Education, Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

  • Proven experience in warehouse management, preferably in the solar energy industry.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management software and systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in warehouse operations.
  • Experience in team management, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Organization skills.
  • QuickBooks.
  • Attention to detail and confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of office computer systems and software.
  • Experience working in data entry software and maintaining detailed information.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent; Minimum of 1 year experience in a relevant field.
  • Strong written and communication skills with clients and customers.
  • Excellent knowledge of Google Docs.
  • Basic understanding of databases.
  • Good command of English (oral and written) and customer service skills.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Works independently, as a team player, and drives results in a fast-paced, team-based environment.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

Work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment or travel by vehicle. Ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds. Standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods. Working in warehouse environments with exposure to varying temperatures. Use of computer, phone, copier, and other office equipment. May periodically perform hand-tool tasks, reach, bend, stoop, twist, lift, push, pull, grasp, balance, talk, hear, and ambulate. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, depth, and the ability to adjust focus.
