Role Summary: As an Accounting Specialist, the ideal candidate will play a supporting role for shared services by performing assigned accounting tasks for BJU Inc and BJU Education Group as well as other tasks as they arise. These tasks primarily included accounting tasks which are further defined in the Key Responsibilities Section.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform accounting functions for BJU Inc and BJU Education Group
- Assist with monthly close process, including making journal entries, reconciliation of key accounts, other activities.
- Assist with and review costing and balance sheet accounts
- Reconcile monthly bank card statements and process for payment
- Assist with bank and investment account reconciliations
- Assist with variance analysis and financial notes
- Assist with annual audit
- Sound knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Ability to act with propriety and maintain confidentiality of business information
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time
- Ability to build relationships with other departments
- Good computer skills, proficiency in accounting software, and ability to learn new software programs
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Accuracy with number and details
