Overview

Pace is seeking candidates with a strong mechanical background to be able to install, maintain, and repair Industrial equipment and field fabricate as needed. This role is based in Indianapolis, IN. LPX Group headquarters is in Louisville, KY.

Responsibilities

  • Perform duties as assigned.
  • Installations, alignment, adjustments to industrial equipment.
  • Work closely with Foreman and team members to ensure construction projects are completed to specifications and in a timely manner.
  • Carry out construction projects, which may require the operation of a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Maintain a clean job site, pick up all tools and equipment, and secure job site each day to eliminate potential hazards.
  • Unload and load construction materials.
  • Must be flexible and willing to learn and use new skills quickly.

Education and Experience

  • Previous experience in construction work or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Strong mechanical background.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in at least two of the key skill areas listed below.
  • Relevant certifications such as AWS, NCCER or equivalent are preferred.
  • Understanding of mechanical systems, blueprints, and safety standards (e.g. OSHA regulations).
  • Familiarity with tools and machinery used in welding, pipe fitting, and metal fabrication.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to Weld, stick and wire feed welder, certification not required but preferred. (Flat, vertical, overhead)
  • Ability to cut with plasma, grinder, and oxygen/acetylene torch.
  • Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
  • Ability to measure and layout materials to meet the required drawings/ specifications.
  • Checking finished work to make sure that if falls within the tolerances marked on the blueprints.
  • Knowledge of installing and maintaining flanged piping systems.
  • Proficiency in installing, aligning, and maintaining industrial pumps for fluid management.
  • Skills in assembling, installing, and repairing piping systems, including blueprint reading and material selection.
  • Ability to cut, shape, and assemble metal structures using tools and machinery.
  • Experience in wastewater treatment systems, including maintenance and operation of related equipment.
  • Knowledge of water treatment processes, including installation and maintenance of treatment systems.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time, and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
