Our global client is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for their team. This direct-hire role will work hands-on to optimize engineering activities at the company’s Newport, NH facility. The ideal candidate has Lean manufacturing experience, the desire to grow as a leader, and a passion for quality and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Drive continuous improvement activities using Lean Six Sigma tools, engineering experience, and facilitation skills
- Design and manage reliability testing plans
- Utilize Design of Experiments (DOE) to investigate process variables, optimize performance, and evaluate supplier materials
- Lead CAPA initiatives to address non-conformances and systemic issues
- Create improvement plans including capital equipment, automation, layout changes, and more using time study, LEAN methods such as Process Mapping, and other methods
- Determine sourcing for manufacturing improvement projects, including internal machining or external sourcing
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, process, and PLC issues
- Program PLCs
- Create drawings, ECNs, and project plans using SolidWorks, ZOHO, and other software
- Train and mentor production and inspection personnel on quality standards, procedures, and tools
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using data analysis, benchmarking, and feedback loops
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain) to resolve quality issues and improve product design and manufacturability
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering preferred; other disciplines with relevant experience will be considered
- Lean Six Sigma Black or Green Belt experience or equivalent skillset
- Experience with 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Visual Management, FMEA, DMAIC, Root Cause analysis, and other continuous improvement methods
- Experience with SPC including Pareto, Cause and Effect Diagrams, Histograms, control charts, Gage R&R, and more
- Experience or skill with diagnosing mechanical or process failures and generating and implementing solutions
- CNC machining and programming experience and/or knowledge is a plus
- Experience in mechanical design, fixture design, mistake proofing, PLC troubleshooting, and programming
- Experience documenting processes and training employees in a manufacturing setting
