Staff Management | SMX is hiring: Forklift Operator in Kenosha

Overview

Staff Management SMX is seeking 1st shift and 2nd Shift Forklift Operators for a project-based assignment at our client in Kenosha, WI. This role will operate reach and stand-up forklifts and other industrial vehicles as needed.

Shifts and Employment Type

Shifts: 1st Shift 7:00am-3:30pm; 2nd Shift 3:30pm-12:00am. Employment Type: Full Time, Temp to Hire. Project duration: 2-3 months with potential for future assignments.

Responsibilities

• Operate reach and stand-up forklifts and other industrial vehicles (e.g., cherry-pickers, automated pallet jacks) as needed.
• Move, stack, and unstack pallets; ensure loads are centered and properly stacked.
• Ensure safe and efficient movement of goods; follow safety regulations and company guidelines.
• Inspect equipment and determine when repairs are needed; rotate stock so oldest items are shipped first.
• Load and unload products from/onto tractor trailers.
• Perform quality assurance duties; report product damage or shortages.
• Utilize RF scanning to track inventory; secure goods for transport (shrink wrap, etc.).
• Document arrival, departure, and movement of goods; check manifests and bills of lading.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18; ability to lift 50 pounds; basic math skills; ability to read and understand packaging, shipping documents, and safety guidelines.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; excellent hand-eye coordination and time management.
• Previous warehouse and forklift operating experience; forklift or heavy machinery certification; completion of forklift driving course is a plus; high school diploma or GED preferred.
