Overview
Antelope Valley College invites applications for our adjunct (Temporary, part-time) faculty pool for the Welding Instructor discipline.
Responsibilities
- Instruct students in the assigned discipline.
- Assignment may include teaching courses during the day, evening, online and/or at off-campus sites.
Minimum Qualifications
Any bachelor’s degree or higher AND two years of professional experience, OR any associate degree AND six years of professional experience or equivalency.
Equivalency
Antelope Valley College Equivalency: Approved by Academic Senate; Equivalency expires April 7, 2025.
- College work equivalent to a Baccalaureate degree and two years of related occupational experience in the discipline; or college work equivalent to an Associate degree plus six years of conceptual experience related to the discipline, AND
- American Welding Society or Los Angeles City Welding Certification, OR
- Nationally recognized certification, licenses, OR
- Eight years' experience as a journeyman welder or welding instructor. Part-time experience will be prorated, two years of which must have included assignment as an instructor, trainer or supervisor in Welding field, AND
- American Welding Society or Los Angeles City Welding Certification, OR
- Nationally recognized certification, licenses.

- Scanned copy of official transcripts with required degree(s). Foreign transcripts and degrees require official certification of equivalency to U.S. transcripts and degrees by a certified U.S. review service at the time of application and must identify graduate level coursework.
- Two (2) current letters of professional reference signed and dated within the last year.

- Each recruitment is conducted independently from others; therefore, interested parties need to submit separate complete application packages for each position they apply.
- Applicants may be subject to passing an examination (written/technical), as appropriate to the requirements of the position.
- Residency within a reasonable geographical area of the college may be necessary.
