We are seeking a PRN Housekeeper to join our team at the Center at Zaragoza in El Paso, TX. The role involves performing various cleaning and housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment for residents and staff.

Essential Job Functions

1. Administrative Functions
2. Ensure adherence to work and cleaning schedules.
3. Report all accidents/incidents to your supervisor immediately, including minor ones.
4. Coordinate daily housekeeping with nursing staff when cleaning resident and recreational areas.

Housekeeping Services

1. Perform daily housekeeping tasks as assigned, including cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining cleanliness of furnishings, fixtures, and surfaces.
2. Empty and sanitize ashtrays daily, disposing of waste into proper containers with self-closing covers.
3. Clean and polish fixtures, ledges, and heating/cooling units in resident and recreational areas.
4. Clean bathroom fixtures, remove water marks, and ensure sanitary conditions.
5. Clean windows, mirrors, floors, walls, ceilings, hallways, stairways, and elevators.
6. Vacuum, shampoo, deodorize, and disinfect carpets.
7. Manage waste disposal and ensure proper trash lining.
8. Clean vacant rooms as assigned.
9. Maintain cleanliness and proper storage of tools, supplies, and equipment.
10. Perform infection control cleaning procedures and discard infectious waste appropriately.

Working Conditions

• Work in all facility areas, with frequent interruptions and rescheduling as needed.
• Interact with residents, staff, visitors, and external agencies under various conditions.
• Work beyond regular hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
• Respond to emergency calls and work in shifts other than the scheduled one if required.
• Participate in ongoing educational programs.
• Potential exposure to hazards such as slips, burns, odors, dust, disinfectants, and infectious materials.

Qualifications

Physical and Sensory Requirements:

• Ability to move intermittently throughout the day.
• Ability to speak and write English clearly.
• Ability to cope with mental and emotional stress.
• Good sight and hearing, with or without prosthetics.
• Independence, flexibility, integrity, and effective teamwork skills.
• Must meet health requirements, including a medical exam.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds, push and pull housekeeping carts, and assist in emergency evacuations.
