Position

Night Auditor (Front Desk Clerk) responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Audit, balance and report on all hotel areas (food and beverage outlets, rooms/front desk, gift shop, etc.) to provide accurate information and ensure company and hotel policies and procedures are followed to prevent fraud.
  • Respond to arriving, departing and in-house guests by providing accurate and timely information and services; respond to telephone and in-person inquiries regarding reservations, hotel information and guest concerns.
  • Audit, balance, post and report on the front desk (room charges, phone calls, zero balance folios, corrections, adjustments, taxes, disputed charges, deposits, etc.) to ensure accuracy and proper cash handling procedures are followed.
  • Audit, balance and prepare, verify and report on room information; input statistics and income journal sheets for daily reports.
  • Balance and close all bank ticket codes daily; run night audit final after revenues are in balance.
  • Greets and completes established check-in procedures for arriving guests using both manual and computerized methods to ensure guests are satisfied and in rooms as requested.
  • Facilitates guest departure (check-out) to close guest accounts and prepare the room for the next sale.
  • Maintains good customer relations by staying informed about in-house and area functions to answer questions and concerns with timely and knowledgeable responses, in person and on the telephone.
  • Operates the PBX equipment to handle incoming/outgoing calls, schedule wake-up calls and page guests for timely and efficient service.
  • Perform the duties of a Front Desk Clerk including express checkouts.

Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent experience.
  • Accounting background preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to operate personal computer, cash register and calculator.
  • Ability to compile facts and figures; strong telephone and guest relations etiquette.
  • Moderate hearing and clear speech; strong communication skills.
  • Ability to read daily reports; strong literacy and comprehension.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods; occasional bending and lifting up to 25 lbs.

Compensation

USD $21.00 - $22.00 /Hr.
