Town of Mashpee is hiring: Teacher Assistant in Mashpee

The Town of Mashpee Recreation Department welcomes applications for a full time Teacher Assistant for the Kids Klub Preschool and Childcare Center; $19.77/hour – $20.97/hour commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position works 40 hours/week Monday through Friday between the programs operating hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm.


Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent with demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities and experience working with children or providing childcare. Or any equivalent combination of education, training or experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the job. Strong verbal communication skills to engage with children, parents/guardians and classroom staff. Must possess a valid MA driver’s license (Class D). Must successfully pass a comprehensive background investigation.


Responsibilities: Responsible for assisting the classroom Teacher in the supervision, safety and education of the students. Incorporates art, reading, role-playing, creative movement and music to help children learn. Assists in a daily program of developmental activities. Promotes learning and development through age appropriate activities. Must work at all times under the direct supervision of a Department of Early Education and Care Certified Teacher or other qualified staff member. Develops and maintains trusting relationships with staff and children.
