IT Specialist I (Finance) – Trilliant Food & Nutrition is growing, and we are seeking an IT Specialist I to provide first-line technical support, maintain desktop/laptop systems, assist with software/hardware troubleshooting, and ensure smooth daily operations of IT services. This is an entry-to-early career role ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, excellent customer service, and working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employees with hardware, software, network, or other technical issues.
  • Triage, diagnose, and resolve common IT support requests (e.g., user login issues, printer problems, software installation, peripheral setups, connectivity issues).
  • Escalate more complex or unresolved issues to higher-level teams, following documented procedures.
  • Set up, deploy, and configure desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Assist with regular maintenance tasks (patching, updates, antivirus, backups).
  • Maintain and update documentation: support tickets, resolution steps, asset inventories, knowledge base articles.
  • Assist with onboarding/offboarding users: provisioning/deprovisioning accounts, setting up hardware, and access.
  • Follow company IT and security policies (password policies, access controls, data protection, etc.).
  • Participate in scheduled system upgrades, hardware refreshes, and IT projects as assigned.
  • Provide excellent customer service: communicate clearly, manage expectations, follow up with users.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred but not required if compensating with experience.
  • 1-3 years of hands-on experience in desktop support, help desk, or related IT support roles.
  • Solid basics in Windows OS (desktop and laptop), Microsoft Office suite, and standard business software.
  • Familiarity with hardware components, peripherals (printers, scanners), and basic network concepts (Wi-Fi, LAN, VPN).
  • Understanding of user account management (e.g., Active Directory or equivalent) and basic security best practices.
  • Experience with remote support tools is a plus.
  • CompTIA A+ or equivalent entry-level certification. Any vendor or cloud basic certifications (e.g., Microsoft, Cisco, etc.) are a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users clearly.
  • Strong customer service orientation; patience and empathy when helping frustrated users.
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; ability to think through issues systematically.
  • Strong time management: ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks or tickets.
  • Team player: willing to collaborate, escalate when needed, follow established procedures.

Hours, Location and Pay

We offer a competitive base pay rate and comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees. This role works 7:30am to 4:30pm on a Monday-Friday schedule at our Little Chute, WI manufacturing facility. On-call hours will be required on a rotational basis with other team members.

  • Frequently required to sit, work at a computer, and operate business machines. May lift and move up to 50 pounds.
