POSITION SUMMARY:
The IT Governance Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring IT resources are governed efficiently and cost-effectively. This role supports the IT Governance function by monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on IT operational expenditures, optimizing resource allocation, and identifying savings opportunities. The analyst serves as a liaison between IT, Finance, and Procurement to align IT operational decisions with financial strategy and enterprise priorities.

The IT Governance Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring IT resources are governed efficiently and cost-effectively. This role supports the IT Governance function by monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on IT operational expenditures, optimizing resource allocation, and identifying savings opportunities. The analyst serves as a liaison between IT, Finance, and Procurement to align IT operational decisions with financial strategy and enterprise priorities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor IT operational costs and usage across infrastructure, software, and services to ensure alignment with budget and strategic priorities.
- Analyze spend data and identify cost-saving opportunities, inefficiencies, or duplications in IT services or tools.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports that provide insights into IT resource utilization, budget adherence, and operational performance.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with Finance and IT leadership.
- Track vendor contracts and software licenses to ensure compliance, cost control, and renewal readiness.
- Contribute to IT procurement governance by reviewing proposals and validating cost-benefit justifications.
- Establish metrics and KPIs to evaluate operational efficiency and recommend improvements.
- Actively participate in IT audit readiness and compliance activities by ensuring documentation, processes, and controls are maintained.
- Collaborate with enterprise teams to assess tool usage, streamline portfolios, and promote adoption of standardized solutions.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Information Technology, or Business Administration.
- 3+ years of experience in IT operations, financial analysis, or IT governance in a mid-to-large enterprise.
- Proficiency in enterprise applications such as Jira, Oracle, Concur, Microsoft or other ERP/ITSM technology platforms.
- Strong analytical skills with expertise in Excel, Power BI, or equivalent data visualization/reporting tools.
- Understanding of IT cost structures (CapEx, OpEx), chargebacks, and resource allocation models.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a business partner mindset.
- Experience with IT Financial Management (ITFM) or Technology Business Management (TBM) frameworks preferred.
- Familiarity with ITIL or COBIT governance practices preferred.
- Certification in finance, IT governance, or project management (e.g., CGEIT, ITIL, PMP, CFA) is a plus.
- This role will be based in Bayview's Coral Gables, FL.
- This role will be 100% hybrid (M/F wfh, Tues - Thurs on-site)
