Job Summary
The Buyer, Supply Planner will have responsibility for the production scheduling and materials supply planning for the liquid production lines for Home & Garden. Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Schedule Production Make sequencing/priority decisions to meet demand requirements & supply chain efficiency Publish master production schedule used for internal use (including KPI metrics) Reschedule weekly (or daily) as demand requirements fluctuate Meet business requirements for inventory (cash flow), fill rate, and plant efficiency
Component Procurement
Collaborate with key suppliers to ensure component procurement plans meet UI requirements as well as supplier capacity constraints Often includes strategic planning for capacity constrained/long lead time components
Analyze risk/reward for economic order quantities; propose and implement procurement strategies in accordance Identify and address gaps in supply chain - escalate and collaborate to resolution with Sourcing, Package Engineering, Quality, Marketing, and/or Sales Drive communication with suppliers, including weekly conference calls with key suppliers Execute procurement strategy in alignment with cost improvement initiatives and business objectives Create and maintain purchase orders to meet master production schedule Monitor procurement plans to ensure alignment with strategic inventory investment plans
Systems Utilization
Analyze results from systematically optimized plan (via APO PPDS); review and adjust master data as required to ensure continued functionality Create & maintain master data required for optimal functionality of Advanced Planning Tools Be skilled in effective utilization of APO PPDS
New Product Development (NPD)
Drive execution phase of NPD process Manage item transitions; creating and executing a component run out plan that optimizes obsolescence expense and marketing direction on new product launch
Other Lead and/or participate in lean training & projects, process development & improvement Complete reporting for department, manufacturing, sourcing use Must understand and demonstrate safe work practices at all times to ensure a safe work environment. Comply with all Company policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Profile
Bachelor's Degree in Inventory Management, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Management or related field required 2 or more years of Buyer/Planner experience required ERP (e.g. SAP, Oracle, etc.) experience required Intermediate MS Excel experience (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPS, formulas, etc.) required Working with an internal plant/manufacturing site strongly preferred APICS Certification a plus

Ability to work independently with minimum supervision. Ability to work in a team environment, sometimes as the facilitator of the team. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize work and follow through to completion. Ability to read, analyze and interpret various information. Strong mathematical ability. Excellent presentation skills. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization PC skills (spreadsheet, word processing, presentations)
