Overview
As a Material Handler I, you’ll be responsible for maintaining inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in the warehouse and recording locations of inventory. The Material Handler I is also responsible for unloading inbound and loading outbound loads while also confirming accuracy. The Material Handler I is expected to be proactive and have the ability to perform their work at a high level with minimum supervision.
Responsibilities
Responsible for following all safety activity in compliance with Rain Bird Safety Standards and Programs
Locate, verify, and supply production with requested materials needed for shift
Receive, verify, and document incoming raw material for quantity and ID accuracy
Responsible for racking raw materials into warehouse locations and performing all transfers into the system
Responsible for staging and shipping finished goods pallets to the Steele DC
Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization of warehouse
Perform inventory counts for Cycle Count Program
Perform warehouse rack audits on bi-weekly basis
Provide important communication and updates through email
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Forklift (stand-up/sit-down) and power carts certification
Has worked a minimum of 10 months in a warehouse setting in the past two years
Proficient in software programs such as Word and Excel
Proven track record with attendance and reliable transportation
Excellent communication, interpersonal, teamwork and organizational skills
Ability to multi-task and work within deadlines
Working in a distribution center and or warehouse
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in Barcode scanner system use and implementation
Oracle based ERP system
Experience in warehousing and/or material planning operations
Knowledge of inventory management systems
