Summary This position is located in the Sports & Fitness Division of the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department in the Navy Region Southwest. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Custodial Worker, responsible for cleaning duties within Sports & Fitness facilities. Responsibilities Performs one or more of the following duties: Scrubs, strips, waxes and polishes floors using heavy (industrial-type) powered scrubbers and buffers. Adjusts, cleans, and oils these machines, and changes brushes, rollers, buffers, and other attachments on them. Moves heavy furniture, supplies and equipment. Keeps restrooms in clean, orderly, and sanitary condition. Maintains a stock of cleaning materials and equipment and notifies supervisor when more is needed. Performs other related duties as required. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Must have custodial/janitorial experience. Knowledge and skill sufficient to read signs, follow simple oral and written instructions. Ability to work safely while moving lightweight objects. Ability to use powered equipment and perform minor maintenance on this equipment. Ability to learn Material Safety Data sheets.
