Overview

We have an opening for seasonal WAITER/WAITRESS positions.

• Location: Yellow Magnolia at Brooklyn Botanic Garden - 990 Washington Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11225. Note: online applications accepted only.
• Schedule: Seasonal schedule. Mid November to January 8th, dinner services. More details upon interview.
• Requirement: Restaurant experience required.
• Pay Range: $17.00 per hour to $18.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room; take food and beverages in an efficient manner following established steps of service.
• Deliver food promptly and professionally; maintain safe food handling and sanitation standards. Follow up to assist with additional needs or requests.
• Demonstrate understanding of menu items and ingredients; advise guests on combinations of food and drinks and accommodate reasonable requests; note preferences and allergens as needed.
• Communicate with back-of-house staff to ensure correct delivery of orders and accommodate special requests.
• Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills; remain flexible and patient when interacting with guests and staff.
• Collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures.
• Promote a clean, safe, and neat dining environment; maintain sanitation standards.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding personal or medical information shared.
• Address complaints or issues promptly and relay relevant information to the supervisor.
• Ensure the dining room is properly set up before and after the service; keep area clean and neat during service.
• Operate equipment such as fire extinguishers, telephones, beverage machines, and food service equipment as required.
• Collaborate with staff from other departments during special events and functions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
