Key Responsibilities of the Pre-Op Registered Nurse Patient Preparation: Assess and prepare patients for surgery, including reviewing medical history and ensuring pre-op instructions are followed. Monitoring: Conduct preoperative assessments such as vital signs, EKGs, and lab results to ensure patient stability. Communication: Educate patients and families about the surgical process, answering questions and providing reassurance. Collaboration: Work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the OR team to ensure a seamless transition into surgery. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety, infection control, and hospital protocols.
Requirements for the Pre-Op Registered Nurse Role BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS Certifications (required). GA RN License (required). 2+ years of experience in Pre-Op nursing or a similar role.
