Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking an Electrician, Maintenance Technician II for our Carson, CA location. HFS is a business unit of Howmet Aerospace, headquartered in Torrance, California. We are the number one global position in aerospace fastening systems and a North American leader in commercial transportation fasteners. Our high-tech, multi-material fastening systems are used on aircraft, aerospace engines, industrial gas turbines, automobiles, and construction and industrial equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform technician work including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
• Connect power supply wires to machines and connect cables and wires between machines and equipment.
• Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors and lighting fixtures; replace damaged or broken wires and cables.
• Test malfunctioning machinery and discuss issues with appropriate personnel to diagnose problems.
• Replace faulty electrical components such as relays, switches, motors, and sensors.
• Replace PLCs.
• Plan layout of wiring and install wiring, conduit, and electrical devices in manufacturing equipment.
• Strictly adhere to safety regulations and plant policies.
• Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility's tools and equipment.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance during machine service.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Diagnose problems, repair or replace parts, test and make adjustments.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
• Detect faulty operations, defective material and report these and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
• Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.

Essential Knowledge & Skills

• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to work on oily and noisy machinery.
• Knowledge of or experience with screw machines, drillers, tappers, and other manufacturing equipment, and ability to troubleshoot these machines.
• Physically able to stand, bend, reach, stretch, and lift 15-30 pounds repetitively.
• Detail oriented with the ability to follow oral and written directions and work unsupervised.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Minimum 3 years of experience as an Industrial Electrician
• Legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
• Access to export-controlled items; employment offers conditioned upon ability to lawfully obtain access
