Night Shift Maintenance Technician Job at Great Lakes Cheese in Village of Frank

The Maintenance Technician I will ensure maximum operating efficiency, maintenance and repair of machines and equipment in production and facility.

1. Respond to production requests for immediate attention to production issues and problems.
2. Maintain production equipment.
3. Maintain records of preventative maintenance.
4. Create requisitions of equipment and supplies to maintain equipment.
5. Assist other maintenance personnel as required.
6. All GLC employees are expected to perform any assignment or job task according to the stated safety policies & procedures.
7. All GLC employees are expected to produce our products in a manner that exceeds the quality and value expectation of our customers and consumers by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, Policies and Procedures outlined in our Safe Quality Food Program.
8. Other responsibilities as assigned by the manager.

The pay for this position is $26.20 - $32.50. All offers will be based on a candidate’s skills, prior relevant experience, applicable degrees and certifications, and internal equity. This range is specific to New York and may not be applicable to other locations.

1. High School diploma or GED.
2. 1 year of maintenance experience and/or training or more.
3. Fundamental understanding of manufacturing processes.
4. Ability to make decisions based on standard practices.
5. Entry level experience and knowledge of production machinery and equipment.
6. Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
7. Familiarity with OSHA regulations.
8. Basic computer skills.

1. 1 year of food manufacturing experience or more.
2. SAP experience.
3. Experience working with ammonia refrigeration systems / PSM.

• Ability to constantly stand/walk; bend/flex/extend neck; frequently grip/reach/lift/pull with L/R hands. • Ability to frequently handle material from floor-to-waist, waist-to-shoulder and pushing/pulling/carrying. • Product weight: up to 50 lbs. • Repetitive work in a fast-paced production environment with average temperature of 50-60 degrees F.
