Responsibilities

• The Guard is responsible to protect property and personnel by patrolling the facility and acting as access control for visitors.
• Schedule: 2nd shift (3pm - 11pm) - Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday, Friday; 1st shift weekends (7am-3pm).
• Maintain security of premises by conducting inside and outside patrols of the secure facility.
• Maintain a professional appearance, uniform and manner at all times.
• Coordinate with police, fire and emergency medical personnel when necessary.
• Provide customer service by ensuring doors are secure and vehicles display proper permits.
• Make sure any trespasses or crimes are reported to the local police authorities.
• Complete daily activity log and monitor camera system.
• Monitor areas for safety hazards including theft and vandalism.
• Availability to work overtime when required.
• Other duties as assigned by Manager.

Safety and Environmental Responsibilities

• Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training.
• Wear proper personal protective equipment as required for the task or work area.
• Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately.

Technical and Physical Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous security experience preferred.
• Ability to stand, walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions for duration of shift.
• Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, and walking significant distances between and within buildings on the property.
• Must have a valid Drivers' License.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
