They play a key role in patient care by producing high-quality images used by physicians to diagnose and treat medical conditions.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\nPrepare and position patients for CT scans, ensuring safety and comfort.\n\nOperate CT equipment to acquire high-resolution images.\n\nAdminister contrast media under the direction of a radiologist or physician.\n\nMonitor patients during procedures to ensure safety and proper imaging.\n\nReview and evaluate images for clarity and diagnostic quality.\n\nMaintain accurate patient records and ensure documentation meets regulatory standards.\n\nAdhere to radiation safety protocols and infection control procedures.\n\nCommunicate effectively with patients, radiologists, and healthcare teams.\n\nMaintain equipment and report any issues to ensure functionality and compliance.\n\nStay updated on industry best practices and continuing education requirements.\n\nQualifications:\nAssociate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field.\n\nCompletion of an accredited radiologic technology program.\n\nARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiography.\n\nAdvanced ARRT certification in Computed Tomography (CT) preferred or required by some employers.\n\nBLS (Basic Life Support) certification.\n\nState Licensing & Certification Requirements\nMost states require CT technologists to be licensed or certified, though requirements vary.
