Two neonatologists provide supervision and support daily and share in primary care of critical infants with one neonatologist providing backup from home (30 min response time for high-risk deliveries under 27 weeks or with major issues) Routine C-sections are attended by charge and procedural nurses Routine newborn care is handled by hospital-employed pediatricians NICU transport (air and ground) is supervised by the neonatologist with a team of transport NICU nurses/RT. Very rarely, an NNP may be requested to go by ground to assist the team.
