About The Position Wellhart is seeking an experienced Critical Care Hospitalist Physician for a 12-day locum tenens assignment in Mississippi. The assignment begins on 11/17/2025, with 12-hour shifts from 7a-7p and 7p-7a. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a skilled physician to provide critical care services in a multi-specialty clinic setting, including a Trauma Center and a non-designated trauma facility. The physician will primarily focus on managing ICU and CCU patients, collaborating with intensivists, pulmonologists, and various specialists. Responsibilities include critical care procedures, ventilation management, and working alongside APPs. The position requires proficiency in using the Epic electronic health record system.

Job Responsibilities and Duties: • Manage patients in ICU and CCU settings • Collaborate with intensivists, pulmonologists, and other specialists • Perform critical care procedures, including intubation and ventilation management • Oversee patient care in an Intensive Care Unit and Critical Care Unit • Work alongside Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) • Coordinate care with various specialties, including trauma, cardiology, and neurosurgery • Utilize Epic electronic health record system for documentation • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and care planning • Ensure adherence to clinical protocols and safety standards • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives
Additional Information: • Must be licensed to practice in the state of Mississippi • Experience in Trauma Center settings preferred • Comfortable managing a diverse range of critical care cases • Excellent communication and teamwork skills required • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment • Flexibility to work day and night shifts as scheduled
