About The Position Wellhart is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant specializing in Urgent Care for a 36-day locum tenens assignment in Texas. The ideal candidate will have significant workers' compensation experience in the Austin market and be comfortable in a typical urgent care setting. This role requires the ability to handle a variety of urgent care procedures, including laceration closure, incision and drainage, X-ray and EKG interpretation, and DOT examinations. The assignment begins on 12/29/2025, with a work schedule of Monday to Friday 8 AM to 8 PM, Saturday 8 AM to 7 PM, and Sunday 8 AM to 5 PM. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled PA to provide essential care in a dynamic urgent care environment.

Job Responsibilities and Duties: • Provide comprehensive urgent care services to patients of all ages • Perform laceration closures, incision and drainage procedures • Interpret X-rays and EKGs • Manage workers' compensation cases with extensive experience required • Conduct DOT examinations • Utilize Practice Velocity electronic health record system • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records • Adhere to all clinical protocols and safety standards
Additional Information: • Must be licensed to practice in the state of Texas • Strong workers' compensation experience in the Austin market is essential • Comfortable working in a fast-paced urgent care environment • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
