About the Role Fathom is hiring a Digital Director who will play a key role in strategically growing Fathom’s brand and audience and promoting our organization’s mission by leveraging social media and digital channels. This person will be responsible for mapping and leading a digital strategy to ensure that Fathom’s policy solutions (including IVOs) and our high-impact thought leadership content reach the right audiences, while growing that audience. This role also supports promoting Fathom’s flagship convening event, The Ashby Workshops. This role requires an understanding of AI, technology, and national and state policy conversations and the ability to quickly understand new and sometimes complex concepts while maintaining a cohesive overarching narrative. The ideal candidate will have a strong instinct for audience engagement, a strategic mindset for amplifying content across platforms, and a hunger for promoting new and high-impact policies. The role will be a hybrid position, based out of our Washington, DC or San Francisco offices. Key Responsibilities

Content Creation, Distribution & Social Media: Design and execute the strategy for promoting and disseminating content (written content, as well as more conceptual topics that need to be converted into social media copy and other digital collateral) across key channels, primarily focusing on social. Content management and creation to support Fathom’s brand, policy priorities, and thought leadership. Monitor AI and technology policy conversations to ensure timely and relevant social engagement. Work with executives to refine their digital presence and increase audience engagement. Identify opportunities to leverage breaking news, trends, and industry discussions to position the organization as a leading voice. Audience Engagement & Growth: Develop and implement strategy to grow digital engagement across LinkedIn, X, and other relevant platforms. Build relationships with key industry voices and communities through thoughtful interaction and content positioning. Track performance metrics, optimize content based on audience engagement and response, and report on progress to senior leadership. Qualifications

3+ years of experience in digital and social media strategy, audience engagement, content writing, copy editing, and/or communications. Strong storytelling skills with the ability to tailor messaging for different formats and audiences. Experience managing social platforms in a way that drives meaningful engagement, not just posting. Experience building audiences from the ground up, both niche audiences and general population consumption. Strong ability to identify and react to relevant trends, breaking news, and industry conversations. Proven ability to amplify executive thought leadership and engage key industry stakeholders. Politically savvy with an understanding of the interconnected nature of politics and policy. Compensation
