Overview
Columbia Threadneedle Investments is looking for a Sr. Manager, Global Contract Office to manage the contract lifecycle of investment management agreements governing our institutional separate accounts. This position will report to the Head of Global Contract Office and will own the contract review and approval process of new and existing business for Columbia’s North America Institutional division. Key Responsibilities
Review and analyze investment management contracts, investment guidelines, fee schedule, amendments, etc. to identify non-standard language for circulation to internal teams to support client requests.
Partner with key business leaders – legal, portfolio managers, investment compliance, sales, billing, and operations - to complete the negotiation of contract terms in a thorough and timely manner ensuring all interested parties are involved in decision making.
Ensure that documentation is vetted, approved and documented in corresponding systems prior to account funding.
Continuously collaborate with other members of the Global Contract Office to maintain effective workflow, consistent process execution and unified approaches to work items.
Assist with ad hoc legal reviews, management reporting, and audit/control testing.
Lead and/or participate in ad hoc process improvement projects for the Global Contract Office.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 4 to 6 years of experience in the financial services industry.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
Investment management industry experience including solid understanding of asset management, financial instruments, and institutional clients.
Prior experience managing legal documents in the financial services industry.
Exceptional attention to detail in written form.
Track record of working with senior leaders to resolve complex client requests.
Analytical and dynamic mindset to understand, adapt, and apply regulatory, client, and economic changes to paperwork, processes, and controls.
