Overview RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a full-time Neurologist at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, a leading academic medical center and part of RWJBarnabas Health—New Jersey’s largest integrated healthcare system—is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Neurologist to join our team in Newark, NJ. This is a full-time clinical role with a focus on both ambulatory and inpatient neurology care.

The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, a passion for patient care, and proficiency in performing and interpreting EMGs. The role includes direct involvement in resident education, multidisciplinary collaboration, and the opportunity to contribute to advancing neurology protocols and stroke care standards across the hospital.

Position Highlights

Full-time clinical neurology opportunity with a focus on inpatient and outpatient care

Opportunity to collaborate with an experienced team of neurologists and subspecialists

Active participation in stroke care and Brain Attack Team (BAT) coverage

Perform and interpret EMGs, EEGs, and nerve conduction studies (NCS)

Involvement in multidisciplinary committees, protocol development, and quality initiatives

Opportunity to teach and mentor residents and medical students

Clinical Responsibilities

Diagnose and treat a wide range of neurological disorders including:

Intracranial Hemorrhage, Encephalopathy, Demyelinating Disorders, and Status Epilepticus

Traumatic Brain Injury, Subarachnoid/Subdural Hemorrhage, and Neurological Infections

Post-op Neurosurgical Recovery and Neurological Prognostication

Assist in stroke program development and participate in stroke call rotation

Educate patients, families, nursing staff, and residents on neurology care and treatment plans

Participate in Joint Commission certification and performance improvement initiatives

Contribute to the Stroke Advisory Committee and community education/outreach events

Candidate Requirements

MD or DO degree

Board-certified or board-eligible in Neurology

Eligible for New Jersey medical license

EMG/NCS interpretation skills required

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Commitment to patient-centered, evidence-based care

The anticipated salary range for this position if hired to work is $300,000 to $365,000 per year.

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate’s educational background, skills, and professional experience.
