Overview

Manifold Bio

is a dynamic biotech company building a pipeline of targeted biologics using a novel in vivo-centric discovery approach. Our drug discovery engine uses massively parallel screening in vivo from the start, powered by a proprietary protein barcoding technology for multiplexed protein quantitation at scale and sensitivity. We combine this with computational design to create antibody-like drugs and other biologics. Our world-class team of protein engineers, biologists, and computational scientists work together to advance therapeutic opportunities where precise targeting is key to overcoming clinical challenges. Position

We are looking for a Scientist experienced in protein chemistry and bioconjugation. You will consistently execute core bioconjugation protocols, contribute to the optimization of workflows, and bring rigorous science and troubleshooting to the growing team. You will join a team with protein chemistry and biochemistry experience and collaborate with a highly interdisciplinary group of experimental, computational, and hybrid scientists to advance our oligomedicines pipeline. Responsibilities

Consistently execute core bioconjugation protocols for various antibody and oligo pairs. Purify and characterize bioconjugated products to ensure high quality and reproducibility. Proactively identify and contribute to the optimization of existing bioconjugation and analytical workflows. Efficiently troubleshoot bioconjugation reactions and related biochemical assays. Accurately maintain detailed experimental records and contribute to scientific discussions. Effectively collaborate and communicate with the research team. Required Qualifications

PhD or equivalent experience in protein biochemistry, molecular biology, biological engineering, or a related field Experience with bioconjugation chemistry principles and methodologies (e.g., cysteine-based, lysine-based conjugation strategies, and/or enzymatic bioconjugation) Proficiency in basic protein purification techniques (e.g., affinity capture, protein quantification, gel electrophoresis, FPLC-based chromatography) Demonstrated practical experience with antibody production, purification, and handling Proven ability to troubleshoot biochemical assays and optimize experimental protocols A team-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership and follow-through Preferred Qualifications

3+ years of hands-on wet-lab experience in protein production, purification, and biochemistry in an industry setting Experience with high-throughput screening or automation Familiarity with various analytical techniques for characterization of biomolecules (e.g., Mass Spectrometry, DLS, BLI, SPR) Familiarity with oligonucleotide chemistry or handling Experience establishing and troubleshooting enzymatic assays This Role Might Be Perfect For You If

You are excited by the challenge of independently proposing and implementing novel bioconjugation strategies to improve efficiency or yield You enjoy developing and validating new analytical methods to solve technical challenges You are motivated by the opportunity to identify and resolve complex technical challenges that unblock critical project bottlenecks We value different experiences and ways of thinking and believe the most talented teams are built by bringing together people of diverse cultures, genders, and backgrounds.
