Fuss & O’Neill seeks a Water Infrastructure Engineer to join our expanding water and wastewater group serving municipal clients in areas including water treatment and distribution; wastewater treatment and collection; decentralized treatment; and water quality. The role focuses on planning, permitting, design, and construction of water infrastructure projects for communities throughout New England. You will collaborate with a small local team, with mentoring opportunities and exposure to clients and construction through the design lifecycle. This is a hybrid role with in-office collaboration and remote work flexibility. Responsibilities
Prepare plans and specifications for public bidding using various design software Develop cost estimates, bidding materials, and construction schedules Author technical memos and reports during the study phase of projects Perform fieldwork inspections and data collection; oversee subcontractors Collaborate with resilience planners, environmental engineers, engagement specialists, and other disciplines to deliver multi-discipline projects Assist in the preparation of grant or other funding applications; permits; subcontracts, and other technical documentation Gain exposure to construction oversight and construction services Participate in marketing the firm’s services through networking, assisting in the preparation of proposals, interviews, and other materials Attend conferences, become active in industry associations, and gain your PE Skills, Knowledge and Expertise (Qualifications)
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering Five plus (5+) years of relevant experience in water/wastewater infrastructure planning, design, and construction Experience with municipal infrastructure projects (e.g., water distribution, sewer collection systems, pump stations, treatment plants) Familiarity with permitting, regulatory compliance, and local/state/federal water regulations (e.g., EPA, DEP) EIT registration; PE license a plus Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and GIS Strong communication skills; both written and verbal What You’ll Love About Working With Us
