Overview
SQL Developer (On-Site, Washington, DC) – Salary Range: $115,000 – $125,000 annually. Role Summary The SQL Developer II is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions; creating and managing reports and data models; and supporting the organization’s growing analytical needs. This role also ensures high levels of system availability through support functions and thorough testing. Key Responsibilities
Translate business needs into technical specifications to develop and implement automated solutions for extracting, transforming, and integrating data from multiple sources. Design, build, and deploy business intelligence solutions including dashboards, reports, and data extracts. Develop views, functions, and procedures to support analytics and reporting. Create and maintain SQL queries, procedures, and reports to support business operations and decision-making. Leverage advanced Microsoft Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, lookups, complex calculations) for data analysis and presentation. Integrate and manage data within SharePoint to ensure accessibility, accuracy, and consistency. Respond to data requests, update reports, and deliver ad hoc analysis with accuracy and attention to detail. Work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities. Ensure compliance with policies, data security standards, and confidentiality requirements. Document solutions and maintain data dictionaries and information libraries. Create and manage ETL processes to automate integration between applications. Collaborate with managers and team members to define reporting requirements. Support ad hoc reporting needs through queries and SSRS. Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices to modernize and automate systems. Perform additional duties as assigned. Education & Experience
Required: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information management, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 5+ years of experience with MS SQL Server (2012 or later), T-SQL programming, SSIS, SSRS, Azure Data Factory, Power BI, and Cognos Analytics. Proficiency with dynamic SQL, triggers, functions, stored procedures, constraints, and flow control. Strong understanding of data modeling, query optimization, and enterprise database concepts. Preferred: Experience in the banking or financial services industry with knowledge of lending and deposit products.
