The Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for developing robust datasets, performing deep analysis, and delivering clear, actionable insights through advanced reporting and data visualization. Serving as a trusted partner and subject matter expert, the individual will drive process improvements, support organizational priorities, and collaborate with stakeholders to enable informed decision-making.

Responsibilities

Brings together disparate data sources and addresses data issues in advance of analyses. Creates complex, thoroughly vetted datasets that support multiple dashboards, ensuring consistent outcomes. Performs deep analysis to identify trends and suggest new metrics and visualization techniques. Identifies and pushes forward process improvement opportunities for the team and/or the organization. Maintains a "questions everything" mentality to ensure reporting quality through extensive testing and checks. Serves as the go-to person for support due to expertise, data knowledge, and thorough analyses. Works independently, drives outcomes, and ensures solutions meet the needs of potentially multiple business units; prioritizes correctly to align with organizational goals. Combines business knowledge with technical expertise to add value to analyses, visualizations, and insights. Communicates findings clearly to stakeholders and executives to foster understanding, collaboration, and informed decision-making. Regularly engages with organization members to drive requirements gathering, resolve issues, and perform data investigations. Completes ad hoc requests such as interviewing, onboarding, training, supporting new hires, and mentoring team members. Performs additional duties as required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree with 3+ years of experience as a Data Analyst creating, maintaining, and testing complex datasets, and performing data analyses. 2+ years’ advanced experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau). Strong people management and project management skills; ability to translate business needs into clear requirements and drive consensus across multiple business units. Experience working with internal clients to understand goals and metrics. Curiosity and drive to improve data visualization methods; champions change to support new methods. Advanced technical expertise in data models, data mining, data visualization, testing/QC; skilled at creating dashboards and providing KPIs and insights. Critical thinking to understand underlying questions and issues beyond the explicit request. Ability to escalate appropriately and prioritize based on data and organizational direction. Self-driven with ownership to prioritize and progress multiple high-visibility projects with minimal supervision. Tenacity to solve complex problems and experience working with executive leadership on data visualizations and insights to support strategic decisions. Prior experience with commercial banking and risk analytics preferred.
