Overview
Fusion Recruiters, in partnership with Enerpac, are in search of a proven Director of Category Management & Strategic Sourcing in Milwaukee, WI. This person will lead the Direct Material category sourcing team, driving incremental enterprise value by guiding direct material spend. The role is responsible for optimizing direct spend processes and establishing governance and compliance for direct procurement activities. Responsibilities
Develop strategic sourcing / purchasing plans that support the future profitability of the business Integrate and align strategic sourcing activities with operations, finance and program management teams Develop a culture of service and support for Enerpac stakeholders Provide guidance and support to make the team successful as mentor and coach Exemplify company values driving ownership and execution Support the team with personal development, coaching and training Set the team’s objectives & performance management Direct material category management including developing category strategies and executing strategic sourcing events prioritizing based on spend, complexity, and strategic importance Develop and implement direct procurement policies and processes Establish category and supplier strategies to drive optimum value for the enterprise Support and lead RFx processes and category management, as needed Ensure all risk, compliance and legal requirements related to procurement are followed Collaborate with department leaders to manage stakeholder relationships and buy-in for sourcing and procurement strategies Collaborate cross-functionally to develop a pipeline for future projects Support cross-functional departments with supplier negotiation, contract execution, and purchase requisition training for direct material spend Drive cross-functional project implementation, controls, and training for direct material sourcing activities, including corporate-wide communications Analyze current spend and identify opportunities to improve service, reduce costs, and streamline purchasing procedures Develop and manage supplier relationship management (SRM) Develop and nurture strategic supplier alliances with a select group of suppliers to secure preferred status for Enerpac in negotiations Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years of experience in procurement and category management strategies in a manufacturing environment; at least 5 years of experience leading a team Deep understanding of procurement category management, stakeholder management and negotiations; a desire to continually learn about evolving procurement opportunities Experience managing a multi-site manufacturing and multi-cultural international team and supply base in low-cost regions Superior negotiation skills with experience in developing team members’ skills Strong analytical and presentation skills; ability to analyze significant data and summarize findings for senior leadership Experience with management, tracking, and reporting of key commodities, currency and market trends from historical and forecasting perspectives Financial literacy, especially in P&L and cash-flow modeling, scenario building and comparative analysis Outstanding analytical skills with a structured approach to solving complex problems Ability to travel up to 25% Experience within an Oracle-based ERP environment Location: Milwaukee, WI
