Job Summary :

The Senior Financial Analyst is a pivotal role within the Investment FP&A team, responsible for overseeing and enhancing the portfolio forecasting model. This individual will lead efforts in forecasting all components of total return, including investment income, realized gains and losses, and unrealized gains and losses. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of financial markets, strong analytical capabilities, and experience in investment portfolio analysis. This position is a hybrid role based out of our Chicago office, meaning your schedule may consist of time in an office setting and time working remotely from your home. The hybrid model is intended to provide greater flexibility – and will mean something different to each team, job and employee. Office presence is driven by the nature of the work and team needs. You’ll work from home for the remainder of the time you’re not in the office. This position is eligible for a monthly connectivity reimbursement to offset the costs of internet and phone expenses. Key Responsibilities

Own the regular operation and maintenance of the investment portfolio forecasting model in Moody’s GGY Axis to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and relevance under changing market and portfolio conditions Conduct detailed forecasts of all components of total return, including investment income and realized and unrealized gains and losses, leveraging quantitative techniques and financial analysis Analyze large datasets to identify trends, opportunities, and risks within the investment portfolio; provide insightful analysis to support investment decisions and strategy Assist in the preparation of comprehensive reports and presentations to senior management explaining forecast results, attribution from actuals, and implications on investment strategy Work closely with Investment and Enterprise risk management, portfolio managers, and other FP&A teams to align forecasts with overall business objectives and capital requirements Stay abreast of market trends, economic indicators, and other relevant information that may impact investment forecasts; incorporate macroeconomic scenarios and portfolio strategy analyses into forecast models Ensure timeliness and accuracy of all forecasting results and activities Implement model updates and keep detailed change logs Foster a collaborative, matrix-oriented team environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement Supervisory Responsibilities

This job does not have supervisory duties. Education and Experience

Proven expertise building and maintaining financial forecasting models (required) specific to investment returns (preferred) Proficiency with financial modeling software and advanced Excel, MS Office skills (required) 4-year degree in finance, economics, statistics, or related field (preferred) Direct experience in quantitative or statistical modeling for investment or financial analysis (preferred) Strong knowledge of financial markets, investment strategies, and portfolio management principles Functional Skills

Experience with Moody’s GGY Axis actuarial software extremely desirable Power BI experience highly desirable Programming experience in SQL, Python, R, Matlab or other analytical languages desirable Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
