POSITION SUMMARY: The Field Marketing Coordinator plays a crucial role in fostering the passion and enthusiasm of Portillo's fans, while attracting new guests and potential team members through engaging marketing and recruiting activities. As a part of our Field Marketing team, you will drive brand awareness and trial through hands-on grassroots marketing tactics, organizing tasting events, and engaging with the community. You will collaborate with area market managers, local restaurants, and the recruiting team to drive sales and promote employment opportunities. You will also manage existing area partnerships to meet KPIs and actively seek and evaluate leads for potential new partnerships. You will be a marketer who blends creative thinking with analytical insights, pursuing new leads and executing marketing tactics. Understand marketing and hiring support needs to devise strategic marketing plans for each DMA and location. Consult restaurant managers regularly on strategic marketing initiatives, aligning goals and initiatives; adapt location-specific marketing focus as appropriate. Work cross-functionally with other departments to reach sales, traffic, and hourly recruiting goals. Display a passion for the brand by living our purpose and values with a servant-leader mentality. Gather guest feedback on service quality and satisfaction to inform marketing initiatives. Ensure local marketing materials are up-to-date and properly placed; update as necessary. Provide an unrivaled guest experience inside and outside our restaurants. Manage and maintain local marketing budgets for each DMA and location. Tie together restaurant needs with regional marketing opportunities to achieve KPIs for traffic and sales. Support opening of new restaurants by leading local marketing initiatives and leveraging market knowledge and partnerships. Energy : Move with urgency and passion while maintaining attention to detail Adapt marketing initiatives to support restaurant needs and changes. Maintain upbeat, positive energy and seek new ways to build the brand. Engage community gatekeepers through on-the-ground tactics. Serve as a brand ambassador in communications and develop community connections, including interviews or on-air opportunities. Work effectively from the field, remotely, and in a hybrid environment. Fun : Entertain guests, connect authentically, and make each other smile Identify and engage in community events and partnerships to attract new guests and potential team members; may involve negotiations with external parties and legal reviews. Negotiate new partnerships that authentically represent the Portillo’s brand and meet KPIs. Create memorable, experiential marketing opportunities. Other duties as assigned. This position reports to the Field Marketing Manager and coordinates local restaurant marketing tactics for assigned markets’ sales and recruiting needs. The role has no direct reports but may coordinate and hire subcontracted workers for events. Regular interactions include Guests, Partners, Operations, Marketing, HR & Recruiting, Legal, and Finance. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Educational Level/Certifications Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, PR, or similar Minimum Work Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities 2+ years of Field Marketing or related experience Valid driver’s license Reliable and independent transportation Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience implementing change in a dynamic environment Aptitude for balancing priorities with strong organization Ability to build consensus across stakeholders Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Manage a budget for DMA Ability to coach and develop marketing strategy with operational leaders Travel Requirement Frequent local travel required (70%) Occasional domestic travel (10%) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Small/Medium group presentation skills Multilingual Educational Level/Certifications Bachelor’s Degree or Certification in marketing, communications, business, or related field preferred Serve Safe Manager certification preferred Work Experience and Qualification Multi-unit experience (retail, hospitality, restaurant) Multi-state employer experience Experience with Asana Experience with Salesforce Pay: The pay range for this role is $50,000 - $55,000 yearly. Your actual compensation will depend on experience, location, and/or additional skills you bring to the table.
