180 US is searching for an experienced and creative Senior Art Director, Social (with automotive experience) to join our team. This role is ideal for an individual with a proven track record in developing compelling and impactful creative work across social media. The successful candidate will play a key role in ideation and execution of creative work across the BMW Social account. Candidate must have a start-up mentality and be willing to work across projects large and small to deliver what is needed on any given day. This role is freelance-to-perm, meaning you will start out as a freelancer on a weekly rate, and we will attempt to convert you to full-time early 2026. The person

Develop and produce high-quality, engaging ideas for paid and organic social, focusing on brand platform ideation and delivering world-class ideas and visuals across briefs. Conceptualize and create compelling visuals for brand communications across multiple channels, ensuring consistency with the brand tone and guidelines. Create beautiful, effective presentation decks that showcase ideas to clients. Generate captivating images for social media platforms, collaborating with the social media team to optimize engagement and reach. Collaborate with creative teams to ensure world-class execution of visual elements; lead and mentor teams to craft comps, decks, and presentations. Partner with strategy to understand target audiences, market trends, and competitive landscape to inform and enhance the quality of the work. Stay updated with industry best practices, emerging trends, and new technologies in design, art direction and advertising to bring fresh ideas to the team. Preferred qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong portfolio across brand, social, and digital platforms. Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, managing multiple projects. Expertise in Photoshop, video editing, PowerPoint, and social-first design principles with attention to detail. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate ideas and provide constructive feedback. Strong understanding of social trends and platforms; automotive/bmw familiarity is a plus. Experience on auto accounts and awareness of the competitive landscape is preferred.
