Overview
We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to join our team with a focus on technical solutioning and proposal development for IT programs. This role combines deep technical architecture expertise with strong business development acumen to design innovative solutions and craft compelling proposals that win competitive contracts.

Reports to:
Director of Business Development and Strategic Initiatives
Location:
North Sioux City, SD or other Sterling locations.
Required Qualifications
4+ years of experience in solution architecture for enterprise IT systems
3+ years of experience writing technical proposals for federal government contracts
Deep understanding of federal acquisition processes, evaluation criteria, and compliance requirements
Proven track record of winning competitive federal IT contracts valued at $5M+
Strong technical writing skills with ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, Google Cloud for Government)
Knowledge of federal cybersecurity frameworks and compliance standards
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field; Master's
Experience with DevSecOps, agile development methodologies, and modern software delivery practices
Background in systems integration, data analytics, or emerging technologies (AI/ML, IoT, blockchain)
PMP or similar project management certification
Primary Responsibilities Solution Architecture & Design
Lead the design of complex, scalable IT solutions including AI/ML platforms, cloud architectures, enterprise systems integration, cybersecurity frameworks, intelligent automation, and modernization initiatives
Develop comprehensive technical architectures that align with specific requirements, compliance standards (FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST), and agency/customer specific needs
Create detailed solution diagrams, technical specifications, and implementation roadmaps that demonstrate clear value propositions
Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure proposed solutions are technically feasible and can be delivered within project constraints
Proposal Development
Lead technical writing and solution development for RFPs, TOs and other acquisition contracts
Analyze solicitation requirements and collaborate to develop win strategies that differentiate our solutions in competitive environments
Author technical volumes, management approaches, and past performance narratives that clearly articulate our capabilities and methodology
Coordinate with capture managers, subject matter experts, and pricing teams to develop comprehensive, compliant proposals
Stakeholder Engagement
Interface directly with federal program managers, contracting officers, and technical evaluators during the pre-proposal and proposal phases
Present technical solutions to stakeholders and respond to questions during oral presentations
Build relationships with key decision-makers across target federal agencies to understand upcoming requirements and pain points
