We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced
Meetings & Events Manager
to lead the design and implementation of a new
Strategic Meetings Management (SMM) program . This role will establish policies, processes, and workflows to optimize the way our organization plans, approves, and executes meetings and events globally. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in meeting management, exceptional communication skills, and proven expertise in driving efficiency and compliance within complex organizations. Responsibilities
Strategic Meetings Management Program Development: Design, launch, and oversee a new global SMM program. Establish best practices to standardize meeting planning, sourcing, negotiations, procurement and legal contract review, execution, and reporting. Develop training and resources to ensure adoption across the organization. Policy & Governance: Create and implement a corporate meetings policy to govern event planning and execution; ensure alignment with corporate compliance, procurement, risk management, and cost-control objectives; monitor adherence and recommend enhancements as needed. Workflow & Approval Process: Design and manage a streamlined workflow to gain meeting and budget approvals prior to internal sourcing of venues and suppliers; collaborate with Finance, Procurement, and internal stakeholders to align approvals with budgetary and business objectives; ensure transparency and accountability throughout the process. Supplier & Venue Management: Oversee the sourcing of hotels and event partners in compliance with approved policies and processes; negotiate contracts and monitor supplier performance; familiarity with Cvent/Lanyon is desirable; willingness to negotiate commissionable rates as applicable. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Communication: Partner with business leaders and stakeholders to understand meeting objectives and align solutions; communicate effectively across all levels of the organization; provide reporting and insights to leadership on program performance, compliance, and savings. Qualifications
Certification: CMP (Certified Meeting Professional) required. Experience: Minimum of 8 years in meetings & events management, including experience with SMM program development or governance. Strong understanding of meeting approval workflows, budget management, and hotel sourcing. Proven ability to develop and implement policies and process improvements. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. High level of professionalism, diplomacy, and attention to detail. Travel: 10%-20% Why Join Us?
