Join us at Ansys Digital Mission Engineering (DME), where you’ll help build the next generation of our flagship aerospace mission modeling software: STK Next.
Ansys DME creates cutting-edge, commercial off-the-shelf software for the aerospace and defense industries. Our tools are trusted across the full mission lifecycle — from concept design to operational execution — by engineers and mission planners at Fortune 500 companies, startups, government agencies, and everything in between.
For over 35 years, we’ve been helping our customers push boundaries using physics-based simulation and mission modeling software that’s grounded in reality.
This role is based in Exton, PA and it is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.
Key Duties And Responsibilities As a UX Designer on the STK Next team, you’ll collaborate with developers, subject matter experts, field engineers, and product managers to design high-quality, user-centric experiences. You’ll help transform complex workflows into intuitive interfaces and ensure consistency across a growing Design System.
Key Responsibilities Include
Conducting user research to identify UI pain points and uncover user needs
Working directly with domain experts to understand complex systems
Creating wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups
Developing and managing reusable components within an enterprise-level Design System to ensure consistency and scalability across products
Analyzing and documenting UI patterns and design standards
Leading or participating in design critiques and UX review sessions
Supporting usability testing and incorporating user feedback into design iterations
Note: This is a design-focused role and does not require coding, though familiarity with HTML/CSS is a plus.
Minimum Education/Certification Requirements And Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Interaction Design, HCI, Graphic Design, or related field with 2 years of experience or Master’s degree
Strong portfolio showcasing user-centered design work (PDF or website)
Proficiency in Figma and/or Adobe XD, Illustrator, or equivalent tools
Experience using component-based design and design systems
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications And Skills
Experience working in Agile or Lean UX environments
Strong writing skills
Familiarity with HTML/CSS
A collaborative mindset and a drive to solve tough UX challenges
