Investigative Multi-Skilled Journalist
to join our award-winning team. We’re seeking a journalist with a strong investigative track record who produces stories that create real impact. The ideal candidate is a dynamic and creative storyteller who thrives on uncovering the truth, holding those in power accountable, and delivering original journalism across all platforms, including broadcast, digital and streaming. This role is built for a curious, ethical and relentless reporter with a passion for enterprise and investigative work. Whether it\'s a deep-dive data piece, a fast-paced accountability story, or a visually rich digital experience, you know how to tell stories that matter—and make audiences care.
Responsibilities
Pitch, develop, and produce both short- and long-term investigative and enterprise stories. Dig deep into complex issues, find untold angles and uncover what others miss. Use open records laws, data analysis and innovative research methods to drive reporting. Build and maintain strong source networks across our coverage area. Write and deliver stories in a clear, compelling, and authentic voice across streaming, TV, digital and social platforms. Shoot and edit high-quality visual content using the latest gear and editing tools. Create content that\'s not only informative but highly shareable and impactful. Enhance storytelling with graphics, data visualizations, social media elements and user-generated content. Collaborate with producers, editors, photographers and digital staff to maximize storytelling potential. Contribute to story development meetings and help shape the direction of ongoing coverage. Help cover breaking news as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor\'s degree in journalism, communications or related field. 5-7+ years of investigative journalism experience preferred. Experience using open records tools, PACER, LexisNexis and public databases. Strong storyteller skills with the ability to make the complicated understandable. Clear, compelling writing style adaptable for multiple platforms. Must be able to use all available tools to enhance stories, including AI. Digital-first mindset with strong understanding of social platforms and audience engagement. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Calm and confident under pressure, especially in breaking news situations. Strong organizational and time management skills.
