Overview
Dealer Relationship Manager , under the direction of the VP - Indirect Lending, develops and manages relationships with auto dealerships to increase the Credit Union's portfolio of loans and other financial services. Responsibilities include offering/marketing Credit Union indirect auto financing to dealerships, managing promotional programs, providing market competitive reports, resolving dealer issues, and assisting with chargeback collections. Identifies new dealerships and manages ongoing business development with existing dealerships. Adheres to Credit Union policies and procedures to ensure ethical and compliant business practices. Position requires travel 85% of the time. Responsibilities
Calls on area dealerships and businesses to establish and maintain indirect lending channels; promote the Credit Union's loan service and other financial services to dealer/retail networks to increase market share and community awareness. Manage dealer efficiency ratios and ensure program expectations are met; maintain strong dealer relations through regular communication and site visits; identify areas to improve or enhance Credit Union programs. Provide education, knowledge, and training to internal team members and external dealership personnel regarding indirect auto financing program requirements and procedures; act as liaison between Credit Union and dealer/retail network. Assist with identifying dealer chargebacks, explain exceptions to plan, and maintain monthly dealer/retail network activity reports with critical ratios. Maintain current knowledge of Credit Union products and services, underwriting parameters, and related procedures. Assist the VP, Indirect Lending, with achievement of strategic initiatives. Participate in department or organizational projects as assigned; perform other related duties as needed. Qualifications
Experience:
Three to five years of related experience with thorough knowledge of indirect lending services, policies, and processes. Must have a valid driver's license and at least two years of driving experience. Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Local travel is required 85% of the time. Interpersonal Skills:
Ability to maintain confidentiality, diplomacy, and tact; build relationships with team members, members, and vendors; excellent written and verbal communication; strong follow-up, motivation, influence, and trust-building abilities; empathy, patience, active listening, and sound judgment; ability to understand and communicate products, services, and regulations. Proficiency with Microsoft Office; strong problem-solving and decision-making; ability to work independently and in a team; strong reading/writing comprehension of complex instructions; highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask; ability to work in a fast-paced environment; physical ability to stand, sit, walk, reach, and drive; frequent local travel and attendance at events, with work performed both in-office and remotely as required.
