CBS News Colorado is seeking a Morning News Producer with a passion for breaking news and serving the community. A smart and self-starter mentality will ensure success in working with the newsroom for our around-the-clock news product. We’re looking for a creative producer, not just a show stacker! We’re looking for a teammate with great people skills, a desire to learn, and the ability to implement the station’s community journalism and breaking news mission for a newscast. We hope this candidate will grow with us as we are Covering Colorado First. Responsibilities
Excellent broadcast writing skills, including teases Ability to understand community news pieces, how they impact viewers, and how to best communicate that in words and visuals Able to use and manage multiple resources to produce a compelling show, including video, sound, graphics, multiple studio standup locations, possibly using multiple live reporters Ability to multitask and manage a show under pressure in and out of the control room, provide leadership and communicate with all the newscast staff A history of managing deadlines Writes headlines and edits video for live broadcasts Creates content with new stories throughout the shift with available elements and resources Basic Qualifications
2+ years’ production or content management experience in Cable, Broadcast, or Digital Familiar with Avid editing systems and iNews Available for overnights, early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Additional Qualifications
