Relativity Space
About the Team
The Integrated Performance teams ensure that our products work across all systems and disciplines, from trajectory design to aerodynamics to reliability analysis and beyond. Our groups size the Terran R rocket, design its missions for customer success, reliability, and reusability, and ensure that every system on the rocket and ground is engineered correctly for the demanding environments of launch, entry, and landing. The Loads & Dynamics team works collaboratively with adjacent Flight Sciences teams, including Dynamic Environments, Aerodynamics, Thermal Systems, and Multibody Dynamics, and across the Stage, Propulsion, Launch, and GNC & Performance teams to develop robust vehicle, ground system, and component architectures, generate associated loads, maintain and improve related analysis tools, provide design and test guidance, and contribute to performance trades on time and budget while meeting our technical requirements. A high degree of autonomy along with an ability to prioritize work in our fast-paced environment is required. About the Role
Lead as the company technical authority for Loads and Dynamics, owning relevant requirements, decisions, risks, criteria and verification activities; customer and range certification; and analysis methodology, tool sets, and workflows Lead development, execution, delivery, and validation efforts for Coupled Loads Analysis (CLA) and other relevant Dynamics analyses, including tooling and automation Establish and execute roadmaps for engineering analysis, testing, and software tool development in collaboration with engineering leadership Drive the design of Terran R system elements and operations to meet Loads and Dynamics criteria and identify opportunities to improve performance, operability, reliability, and simplicity Hire, train, and coach analysts and technical leads to be hardware-focused, collaborative, and technically rigorous Work closely with Aero, GNC, and hardware teams to manage analysis inputs, outputs, and indicators to help ensure successful design and operability Drive maturation of relevant analysis processes, test and launch campaign operations, development and characterization testing, and data and results processing and communication About You
