Overview
PRINCIPAL DUTIES: Responsible for leading the design, analysis, presentation and dissemination of data, information and knowledge critical to the performance excellence. Also provides internal and external customers with data, information, and knowledge necessary to assess the quality, cost and efficacy of healthcare services; leads healthcare effectiveness and improvement initiative research by aggregating clinical data and making these data amenable to analysis, actions and outcomes. Responsible for providing leadership at a systems level and is expected to direct all aspects of Clinical, Operational and Finance Analytics based on Population Health. In addition, responsibilities will include providing internal and external customers with data, information and knowledge necessary to assess the quality of cost efficacy of health care services, as well as lead care effectiveness and improvement initiatives. Responsibilities
1. Evaluates users’ needs and requests for data and reports relative to current systems and available technologies and applications. 2. Establish a robust team of analytics specialists that possess a comprehensive understanding of data at a granular level and that can effectively "translate" the importance of reviewed and reliable data streams to clinicians and executives across SBH Heath System. 3. Develop the necessary systems and staff necessary to maintain a research and analytics program supporting System strategic & business planning activity 4. Lead a significant automation data initiative that will utilize various reporting tools and technologies to maximize the efficiency of data collection, management, analysis and distribution 5. Manage an analytics team certified in Epic applications: Caboodle Data Model/Development Fundamentals, Cogito SQL/Fundamentals/Development, Bugsy Infection Control Reporting and Dashboard Setup, Clarity, Access/Clinical/Revenue Data Model, Radar SQL Metrics, Slicer Dicer Custom Build 6. Develop and maintain communication/reporting systems that pro- actively update system leadership with environmental assessments, best practice business models and other information relevant to the strategic issues faced by providers operating under a population health model 7. Support and satisfy customer requirements for business intelligence. Activities include, but are not limited to, developing solutions for: Ad- hoc reporting, data extracts and feeds, internal/external audit inquiries, dashboards, and operational reporting 8. Provides ongoing analysis, maintenance and technical and functional support for information systems throughout the organization. Identify system deficiencies and analyze system problems and solutions. Independently comes to conclusions and implements corrective action. 9. Develop familiarity with data dictionary/field definitions for appropriate applications. Develop ability to generate moderately complex SQL queries as requested by user departments 10. Participate in Bronx RHIO / !MAT software migration/upgrade process 11. Analyzes needs for data integration and participate in the definition and design of complex interfaces between disparate computer applications assuring integration and integrity of clinical and financial information t hroughout the organization. 12. Remains abreast of new developments in the area of healthcare, healthcare information systems and staff education by participating in continuing education programs/conferences and by review of the literature and periodicals. Required : Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent work experience related to roles/responsibilities described above. License/ Certification /Registration(s): Epic Certifications

helpful . Experience/Skills
Required: 2-4 years’ experience active and progressive experience in a healthcare environment that has provided knowledge of complex hospital operations. Prior experience in health care information systems including system installations/upgrades, analysis and support of financial or clinical/ancillary systems. Project management experience in the field of healthcare information systems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Exceptional experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Power Point, Excel, Access) SQL Server 2008R2 or 2012 (reporting, extraction, transformation and loading: ETL), various data visualization tools will be preferred. Effective business writing and verbal communication skills. Experience presenting at all organizational levels and in large group settings.
