Campbell County Health is seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to join our executive team and provide strategic clinical leadership across the organization. The CMO will function at an executive level, advising the hospital's governing body, CEO, medical staff, and hospital leaders on patient care and clinical oversight matters. This role is responsible for evaluating medical innovations, helping shape service line scopes, and defining strategic organizational medical plans to maximize patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities
Optimizes organizational structure, policies, and procedures with consideration of clinical implications. Designates and evaluates clinical leaders; serves as a liaison between providers and administration. Provides administrative leadership to several committees, including Physician Recruiting and Retention and Joint Conference Committees, and operationally leads the Department of Anesthesia. Reports to the Chief Executive Officer of Campbell County Health. Ensures the organization maintains the highest standards of patient care. Acts as liaison between administration and medical staff; participates in executive and governing body meetings. Monitors healthcare regulations and ensures compliance. Stays updated on clinical and management advancements to guide strategy. Integrates clinical perspectives into organizational strategic planning. Promotes efficient clinical staffing and supports budgeting for provider services. Collaborates on planning for facilities, equipment, and supplies impacting clinical care. Oversees and updates physician recruiting policies and sets recruitment goals; leads provider recruitment and retention efforts. Directs the Provider Recruiting and Retention Office and supports and counsels medical staff leaders; aligns medical staff with CCH's mission and goals. Assists in credentialing, privileging, and evaluating provider performance; ensures accurate medical recordkeeping and proper provider committee assignments. Directs Medical Staff Services Office; fosters a professional, interdisciplinary practice environment and evidence-based care. Resolves cross-departmental patient care issues and provides administrative-clinical oversight. Provides mentorship and leadership development for medical leaders; promotes open communication and collaboration with staff and departments. Holds providers accountable for productivity and quality goals; advises on risk management and develops quality improvement initiatives. Monitors compliance with medical standards and regulatory requirements; oversees patient care complaints and Quality & Risk Management Office. Manages the Department of Anesthesia operations, staffing, and budgets; provides weekly activity reports to the CEO; serves as administrator on call as assigned. Complies with the hospital's compliance program and maintains eligibility for healthcare practice. Performs other duties as assigned. Job Qualifications
Education, Training, Experience: Graduate of an accredited School of Medicine. Master’s in Health Administration (MHA) or Business Administration (MBA) preferred. Current Wyoming license to practice medicine. Minimum 10 years of clinical experience. Minimum 5 years as Chief Medical Officer. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities: Maintain continuing education requirements and all certifications and licenses as required (e.g., Board Certification, Continuing Medical Education, ATLS, ALS/ACLS, PALS, BLS). Strong knowledge of medical operations; excellent interpersonal skills with patients, staff, management, board, and external stakeholders. Ability to communicate positively under stress; demonstrated ability to develop and support teamwork. Ability to prioritize multiple details, problem-solve, and act decisively with various stakeholders. Proficient computer skills and ability to interpret data; strong analytical and memory skills. Maintain current knowledge and clinical skills relevant to the CMO role. Benefits
