Experts of operations and efficiency who enable a consistent guest experience by ensuring product is set, in stock, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. The General Merchandise and Food Sales team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, and promotional signing processes for all GM areas of the store. This team also leads inventory accuracy, presentation and pricing processes for all areas of the store. This team leads Food & Beverage and Food Service, providing a fresh and food safe experience. The role of a General Merchandise & Food Sales Team Leader provides you with the skills and experience of: Retail business and guest service fundamentals including department sales trends, freshness and quality, inventory management, guest shopping patterns, pricing and promotions strategies Planning department workloads daily/weekly to support priorities and sales goals Process improvements and workload efficiency Leading a team of hourly team members, including interviewing, developing, coaching, evaluating and retaining talent Coaching and training hourly team members to build a capable team Responsibilities
Execute daily/weekly workload to deliver department and store sales goals and guest engagement, including merchandising planning, pricing, sampling, promotions and price changes Assist with the daily execution of tasks such as receiving products, restocking shelves, organizing the backroom, arranging merchandise, and putting up promotional signs; fulfillment activities where applicable Work a schedule that aligns to guest and business needs (early morning, evening, overnight shifts and weekends) Assign daily tasks to team members based on workload and guest traffic patterns in line with priorities set by your direct leader Help assess reporting to identify gaps in GM and Fulfillment processes and assist in developing a plan to resolve Lead food, food service (if applicable), inbound, outbound, replenishment, inventory accuracy, presentation, pricing and promotional signing processes to ensure freshness and reliability for guests Enable a consistent guest experience by ensuring product is in stock, available, accurately priced and signed with minimal disruption Be an expert of operations, accuracy, process and efficiency Lead pick, pack and ship fulfillment work accurately (where applicable) and assess fulfillment reporting to identify gaps Collaborate with Closing teams to identify key priorities and keep the store guest-ready Maintain a fresh, full and food-safe area, following Food Safety policies and procedures Ensure proper execution of all Food Safety standards and cleaning routines Ensure team member safety guidelines and state and federal regulations are followed Assess backroom and sales floor areas of Food & Beverage and Food Service daily to prioritize needs and identify workload tasks; review reporting for trends Remain up-to-date on trends and products to educate team members Promote maintenance of brand standards (e.g., Starbucks and Pizza Hut where applicable) and partner with relevant district managers Complete required training and certifications (e.g., Starbucks and/or Pizza Hut where applicable) Onboard team members and close knowledge gaps through training and experiences Evaluate and recommend candidates for open positions and develop a guest-centric team Establish clear goals and hold team members accountable Lead and coach the team to ensure accuracy and efficiency in all GM processes Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance; lead team to uphold this commitment Model a safety culture, identify hazards, and assist with incident response; report injuries timely Model security procedures to enhance in-store security culture Support merchandise protection strategies across the total store Demonstrate inclusivity and provide an equitable experience Model best-practice execution and help close skill gaps through development and coaching What We Are Looking For
