Global Communications Specialist . The Global Communications Specialist is a digital storyteller who will collaborate with the VP of Global Impact to grow AGCI’s global communications platforms, ensuring the organization’s voice, mission, and impact resonate with diverse audiences around the world. This Role Will Oversee the expansion and engagement of AGCI’s activist arm, the Trauma Disruptor Coalition, across social media channels. Oversee digital content development and execution to build strong, engaged global communities. Serve as the primary liaison between AGCI’s global field offices and the U.S.-based communications team, ensuring powerful local stories are translated into compelling global campaigns. The Specialist will combine vision with execution—building systems, coaching field staff, and leveraging analytics to continually refine and grow AGCI’s digital reach. This is a hands-on role requiring proven success in growing online communities, scaling campaigns, and strengthening global brand presence. Essential Duties And Responsibilities DIGITAL & SOCIAL MEDIA STRATEGY Coordinate the growth, engagement, and reach of AGCI’s activist social media channels, developing campaigns that increase followers and deepen audience connection. Co-create and manage a global content calendar aligned with AGCI’s mission, advocacy priorities, and storytelling goals alongside the VP of Global Impact and Marketing. Track performance metrics across platforms; analyze and optimize for growth and engagement. Stay ahead of digital trends, platform updates, and audience behaviors to keep AGCI’s content fresh, relevant, and impactful. Identify and nurture relationships with influencers, partners, and collaborators to amplify AGCI’s reach. CONTENT CREATION & STORYTELLING Partner with AGCI field offices to co-create authentic, trauma-informed stories in multiple formats (social posts, video, blogs, appeals, and multimedia). Adapt content for diverse audiences, balancing local authenticity with global consistency. Ensure every piece of content reflects AGCI’s brand, mission, and safeguarding standards. GLOBAL COMMUNICATIONS & BRAND ALIGNMENT Develop and implement a global communications strategy that elevates AGCI as a thought leader in trauma disruption and child advocacy. Train, mentor, and equip regional communication staff to gather, produce, and share compelling stories. Maintain alignment with AGCI’s visual identity, messaging, and values across all channels. TRAINING, EVENTS, & ADVOCACY SUPPORT Provide digital communications support for campaigns, events, and advocacy efforts. Design communications training workshops for staff and field partners. Support internal communications that inspire and align AGCI’s global team. Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field. 5+ years of professional experience in digital communications and social media growth, ideally in a global or nonprofit setting. Demonstrated success in growing and managing social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, X) with proven audience engagement strategies. Experience leading digital campaigns from strategy through execution, including influencer/partner collaborations. Nonprofit/child and family services experience strongly preferred. Working Skills Strong Research and Storytelling Skills: Ability to identify and develop compelling narratives that honor the dignity of every child and family AGCI serves. Digital Marketing Knowledge: Understanding various digital platforms and channels. Cultural Responsiveness: Ability to adapt content to diverse audiences and various cultural contexts. Creativity and Innovation: Ability to think outside the box and develop innovative, ethical storytelling approaches that uphold the dignity and safety of the individuals that AGCI serves. Project Management Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Visual Communication Skills Desired: Depending on the role, skills in video editing, photography, or graphic design may be required. Communication Skills Exceptional writing and communications skills required, including the ability to craft clear, concise, and engaging content that will inspire and engage diverse audiences. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret stories, correspondence, reports, or content from a variety of cultural contexts. Ability to write error-free business correspondence, reports, and presentation materials. Ability to effectively distill and explain complex concepts in a simple, compelling, and trauma-informed way for donors/sponsors, clients, government agencies, vendors, organization partners, and the general public. Fluency in Spanish is considered a plus for this position. Compensation $55,000 - $67,000/year, depending on experience.
