Overview
The Archdiocese of Milwaukee seeks a Print and Digital Newsroom Manager to oversee production and distribution of news content that supports our mission and the teachings of the Catholic Church. Responsibilities
Content management: Oversee the production, editing, and publishing of print and digital content, including articles, videos, e-newsletters and social media posts. Content planning and production: Monitor news feeds, coordinate story assignments, interviews, writing, proofing, video and photography, and ensure deadlines. Integrate multimedia: Work with photographers and reporters to incorporate visuals into stories. Quality and accuracy: Ensure the quality and accuracy of all content according to Catholic teachings and uphold journalistic standards. Digital strategy and optimization: Develop and implement strategies to increase audience engagement, website traffic, and social media presence; ensure content is optimized for various digital platforms; monitor analytics to track performance and identify areas for improvement. Manage resources: Oversee the newsroom budget and allocate resources effectively; supervise freelance reporters, photographers and other newsroom personnel; provide mentoring and training. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism, multimedia journalism, marketing or a related field. Minimum five years of experience in newspaper reporting or multimedia content production with long-form writing and supervisory experience. Practicing Catholic in good standing with a passion for the faith. Journalistic expertise: strong skills in news gathering, reporting, writing and editing; Digital skills: proficiency in CMS, social media platforms and digital analytics tools.
