ProSidian seeks a Nuclear Safety and Environment, Safety, and Health Evaluations Task Leader (SCA Code:) in CONUS – Mid Atlantic Washington Metropolitan Area (Northern Virginia, Washington DC, Maryland) to support an engagement for a cabinet-level US government department responsible for energy and safety in handling nuclear material. The Agency’s Office of Enterprise Assessment (EA) provides leadership and independent assessments of the Agency’s policies and site performance in safeguards and security, cyber security, emergency management, environment, safety, health, and other critical functions as directed by the Secretary. As the Agency Program Management Improvement Officer (PMIO), the EA Office supports priorities for maintaining a safe, secure, and effective nuclear deterrent; reducing nuclear proliferation threats; overseeing the US energy supply; cleaning up Cold War nuclear facilities; and supporting the Agency’s 17 National Laboratories. The ProSidian Engagement Team supports a “check and balance” function by: 1) observing and reporting on performance of Federal and contractor organizations’ implementation of security and safety policies; 2) applying enforcement actions for poor performance; and 3) developing and delivering training programs reflecting best practices and lessons learned from EA assessments. This includes technical expertise to perform the full scope of oversight and support activities in safeguards and security, cyber security, emergency management, environment, safety, and health, as well as cross-cutting support. This is an Engagement Team addition to the project. Task Leader candidates will work to support requirements. Qualifications

The Nuclear Safety and Environment, Safety, and Health Evaluations Task Leader shall have consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five years, be able to use a computer to communicate via email, and be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and related tools. Work products shall be thorough, accurate, well documented, and compliant with established criteria. The candidate shall perform duties competently and professionally to meet milestones and delivery schedules. Education: A Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree can substitute for five years of relevant experience. The degree must be from an accredited college or university, in fields such as an engineering discipline, health physics, business administration, or environmental management. Experience: At least 15 years of relevant commercial or government experience, including at least 10 years in nuclear safety or environment, safety, and health, at least 5 years in conducting appraisals, and at least 5 years managing a project of similar size and complexity with direct interaction with senior Government officials. A broad knowledge of environment, safety, and health programs is required, including nuclear safety, worker safety and health, and environmental protection. Knowledge of project management techniques and an understanding of agency missions, sites, operations, facilities, and organizational roles are required. Excellent oral and written communication skills, conflict resolution abilities, and the ability to meet deadlines under pressure are essential. Additional qualifications include: U.S. citizenship; proficiency with Microsoft Office; and eligibility for a Facility Access Authorization by the USG Security Office. The position requires the ability to interface with senior Agency and contractor managers and to produce reports and deliverables that meet expectations.
