Overview

Henderson Engineers is seeking a Construction Manager to join our organization.

A Construction Manager works to manage all projects in collaboration with construction and engineering team members to develop and maintain engineering and construction schedules. They have project financial responsibility, including budget, profit, and cost projections. Responsible for building and updating P6 schedules (or reaching out internally for expertise) and various milestones and be sure project deliverables are completed or added to the scope of work. Provides updates to Manager of Construction on the progress of project progression via a monthly forecasting meeting performed 1 on 1 with the Manager of Construction. Must work towards software proficiency of P6, Procore and any other required application. Places an emphasis on building and maintaining best in class relationships with clients, internally and externally. Construction Manager must build effective and professional relationships with all project stakeholders including subcontractors, vendors and equipment suppliers. Responsibilities

Project Management:

Works closely with project managers, engineers, designers, procurement staff, construction managers, contractors and other project services staff to provide detailed planning and scheduling of projects from conceptual planning through engineering and construction. Develops resource loaded schedules, including lists of activities, major milestones, critical approvals, long lead procurement items and other critical project deliverables to be scheduled and tracked for the projects. Develops schedule logic and constraints, realistic activity durations and available manpower and resources. Manages and executes all change orders in a timely fashion and adjusting schedule to reflect impacts if any and providing required timely notice of impacts to client and all other stakeholders.

Engineering Design Team Assistance:

Assesses the impact of design changes and schedule slippages and inform company management and clients of all schedule updates. Applies knowledge of engineering, procurement, and construction terminology and concepts to develop and maintain critical path logic networks; accumulate and access historical data for use in maintaining realistic future planning and forecasting. Provides guidance, direction, and specialized assistance for the resolution of difficult project control problems. May interface with clients, attend regular meetings and give statistical reports.

Safety Compliance & Facility Coordination:

Ensures a safe and efficient work environment. Verifies contractors are meeting and practicing all required OHSA and industry approved safety standards. Coordinates with facility and the contractor to ensure facility operations are not interrupted. Obtains required licenses/permits, confers with city or county inspectors, and ensures compliance of legal requirements, company regulations, and building and safety codes.

Cost Estimation:

Assists in the development of accurate budgets for all projects and clients that reflect all costs associated with construction. Manages the planning, materials, building, and budget of construction projects. Negotiates and provides cost estimates for construction work and associated change orders.

Business Development:

Assists with business development activities by promoting Henderson to existing and potential clients. Participates in client, company and industry events. Grows personal network by building relationships with clients and industry professionals.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications for the Role are: Three (3) or greater years

of relevant experience required in construction and the design of building systems. Project management, estimating, field installation, and installation supervision experience required. OSHA Certification Required. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in relevant field of construction or engineering preferred. Common examples include Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Science, Construction Engineering, and Construction Management. Years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of requisite education.
