We are seeking a seasoned Data Architect with a strong background in banking and financial services to lead a major data modernization initiative. This role is critical to transitioning legacy data warehouse systems into a modern, cloud-based architecture using Microsoft Azure technologies. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in data governance, cloud migration, and enterprise data architecture, and will serve as a strategic partner to both engineering and business teams. Key Responsibilities
Architect and lead the migration of legacy data warehouses to Microsoft Azure, including Azure Databricks, Data Factory, SQL, and Power BI. Design and implement scalable data solutions aligned with enterprise data governance frameworks, including Unity Catalog and data mesh principles. Evaluate and transition from legacy ETL tools (e.g., Alteryx) to modern platforms such as Microsoft Fabric or other cost-effective alternatives. Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to understand data needs and ensure alignment between technical solutions and business objectives. Provide architectural guidance and mentorship to engineering teams, ensuring best practices in cloud data architecture and performance optimization. Lead efforts in metadata management, data lineage, and data quality assurance across platforms. Required Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Data Architect, with a proven track record of migrating legacy data systems to cloud environments (preferably Azure). Strong understanding of ETL processes, with hands-on experience in Alteryx and/or Microsoft Fabric. Experience with data governance, including Unity Catalog and data mesh frameworks. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language. Demonstrated success in working across cross-functional teams and driving enterprise-wide data initiatives. Preferred Qualifications
Experience in banking or financial services industry. Hands-on experience migrating from Alteryx to any modern ETL platform. Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform and enterprise reporting tools. Seniority level
