About the Role Trace3 is seeking an experienced Application Security Professional to join our fast-growing DevSecOps consulting practice. This presales role serves as the solutions expert, supporting our sales teams in prospecting, influencing, architecting, and scoping application security solutions for customers. You will develop application security sales and technical collateral, conduct market analysis and lab testing to validate coverage and efficacy, and help translate client business goals and technical requirements into appropriate solutions. You will plan and lead the implementation and adoption of application security platforms, review customer software architecture and source code, provide training for developers and management, and drive solution adoption across multiple development teams. What You’ll Do Lead presales engagements as the DevSecOps Application Security SME to Trace3 customers and sales teams nationally Collaborate with sales to ensure technical needs are understood and met with optimal solutions Build technical relationships with stakeholders to support sales opportunities Present as the SME at client-facing and industry events Conduct research and lab testing of application security solutions to evaluate efficacy and coverage Build and maintain application security vendor partner relationships Contribute to customer-facing and internal presales collateral Develop service offering collateral and delivery documentation for market-ready solutions Champion Agile and DevOps leading-practices in DevSecOps transformations Assist in services opportunity generation, technical scoping, and SOW writing Assist in delivery of application security services and adoption of tools and practices Qualifications & Interests At least 5 years of development experience in any programming language Minimum of 5 years of combined hands-on experience as a software engineer, DevOps engineer, or Application Security engineer Experience as a Sales Engineer or Solutions Architect in application security products or services Strong understanding of cloud-native development, microservices, and secure deployment in cloud environments Ability to assess requirements and propose solutions Hands-on experience with SAST, SCA, IAST, DAST, API Security, WAF, and RASP Experience integrating security tools into CI/CD Experience with commercial application security solutions (SAST/SCA/DAST/IAST) such as Veracode, Fortify, Checkmarx, Synopsys, WhiteSource, Snyk, Invicti, Contrast Familiarity with OWASP SAMM, ASVS, MASVS, CWE, SANS, BSIMM Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) Knowledge of developer tools, project management, and bug tracking systems Prior experience at an application security vendor is a plus Bonus Qualifications Experience with API security solutions (e.g., Traceable, Noname Security, Salt Security) Understanding of REST APIs, microservices, and security best practices DevOps/Architecture experience and cloud provider certifications (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) Experience in secure coding training, security champion programs, threat modeling, or app security testing Prior consulting experience is a plus Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to design solutions for enterprise customers The Perks Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans for you and your dependents 401(k) with employer match, 529 plan, HSA, Life Insurance, and Long-Term Disability Competitive compensation Training and development programs Stocked kitchen with snacks and beverages Collaborative culture and work-life balance with generous paid time off Compensation Salary range: $175,000 - $200,000 USD.
